Jesse Sensenig—of Goshen Brewing Company and The Fold—discusses the ways Warrick & Boyn has helped him and his wife, Amanda, to create energizing community spaces.
Jesse Sensenig, owner of Downtown Goshen’s Goshen Brewing Company and co-owner of Elkhart County’s hottest new pizza pub, The Fold—opened in 2025 in Downtown Goshen—had something big in mind when he first became a local small business owner. When he and his wife, Amanda, opened Goshen Brewing Company—aka “GBCo”— in 2015, the dream was to do much more than just serve good food and brew unique and delicious craft beers.
“With GBCo, and now with The Fold, the vision was to create a community space for people to gather and celebrate and share the love we all have for Goshen and our lovely downtown,” said Jesse Sensenig, who has worked with Warrick & Boyn with both businesses. “We started working with Warrick & Boyn about six years ago with GBCo. They were recommended to me. I knew they had a lot of experience working with the ATC, and they seemed very knowledgeable.”
No place like GBCo
Now regarded as a can’t-miss destination throughout The Maple City, Elkhart County, and all of Michiana, GBCo is known for its farm-to-table approach, collaboration with other local businesses and sustainability in food sourcing. Jesse and Amanda, both Goshen College graduates, support area artists and creatives by using and selling their merchandise at the brewery, and actively promote and book local music groups for live GBCo performances every week of the year.
It’s been a good equation, thus far, and Jesse Sensenig only had kind words to describe Warrick & Boyn’s involvement.
“It’s been a very good experience working with Warrick & Boyn,” he said. “I’ve worked quite a bit with partners Rachel Schnetzler and Cynthia Gillard, and they’ve done a great job of helping us to work through myriad options and to make sure we are informed in all of our decision-making. Setting up a business entity can be complicated, and Warrick & Boyn has helped us in a lot of ways—from better understanding the differences between an LLC and S Corp, to helping us to set up a business accounting system that makes the most sense, taxwise, for our setup.”
What sets Warrick & Boyn apart?
Sensenig, a 2001 Goshen College graduate, said he has previously worked with other area firms, and there is one thing in particular—on top of always being “prompt, professional, and easy to talk and interact with”—that sets Warrick & Boyn apart from the pack.
“What impresses me the most is they treat small business owners with the same care and attention to detail that they give larger clients,” said Sensenig. “I would definitely recommend them to anyone trying to get started with a business. For us, there have been celebratory moments working with Warrick & Boyn, such as when we were able to close on a vacant property we bought through GBCo. And there have been other times when working with Warrick & Boyn led to feelings of deep relief, such as when they helped us complete our excise permit application for The Fold. Relief is just as good, though, because clearing one hurdle is what allows us to get to the next hurdle, and it’s always a thrill to continue with a plan and advance from one stage to the next.”
Helping people improve our community!
With the help of Warrick & Boyn, Jesse and Amanda Sensenig—bolstered by their partners and teams at GBCo and The Fold—have worked hard to improve quality-of-place in Downtown Goshen, create successful business entities, and provide spaces in Goshen where people can enjoy each other and enjoy their community.
“It’s been a joy for me over the years to see Goshen continue to develop and grow,” Sensenig said. “I think GBCo and The Fold have both added to the quality of life in Goshen and Elkhart County, and I’m happy that we can serve residents, make them happy, and provide all sorts of events and concerts that bring people together in joy.”
