Timothy S. Shelly
Tim Shelly, partner, advises numerous public school corporations on student, teacher, governance and administrative issues. He also advises businesses regarding corporate and commercial matters, including all aspects of litigation defense and management.
Shelly regularly speaks to professional and school administrator associations, including the Indiana School Boards Association semi-annual school law seminar. He was a contributing author for the book, “Supreme Court Justices of Indiana: A Biographical Directory,” published by the Indiana Historical Society and writes book reviews for “Preservation” magazine. He was also an instructor of Paralegal Studies at Indiana University South Bend.
Public Service
Shelly serves on the Beacon Health System board of directors on its finance committee. He serves on Elkhart Community Schools’ Key Committee whose charge is to recommend a right-sizing plan for the school corporation. He is a past Chairman for Indiana Landmarks, the country’s largest statewide historic preservation organization. He also serves on the National Trust Historic Preservation board of advisors. The Elkhart Mayor’s office also appointed Shelly to serve on the Elkhart Urban Enterprise Association.
Shelly also served as President of Elkhart Noon Optimists, Concord Dollars for Scholars Foundation, the Elkhart Historic and Cultural Preservation Commission, and Vice President of the Elkhart Community Soccer Association. He was a board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Elkhart County, Child And Parent Services (CAPS) and the Ruthmere Museum Advisory Board.
