Gary D. Boyn
Gary Boyn, of counsel, conducts a general civil practice with special emphasis on business structuring and planning, employment law, municipal law, commercial law and all aspects of bankruptcy law. He has served as an interim bankruptcy trustee since 1978 for the Northern District of Indiana.
Boyn is a Civil Mediator, registered with the State of Indiana, and the Bankruptcy Court.
He has frequently spoken on bankruptcy, corporate and employment issues and has published numerous articles on these subjects.
Public Service
Boyn formerly served in a leadership capacity on a number of municipal and community boards including the Elkhart City Board of Public Works, National New York Central Railroad Museum Commission, Premier Arts, Inc., Elkhart City Bar Association, Elkhart Lions Club, Elkhart County Council on Aging, Inc., and ADEC, Inc. He continues as counsel for the Elkhart Redevelopment Commission, Aurora Capital Development Corporation, Elkhart Urban Enterprise Association, Inc., and Elkhart Festivals, Inc. He serves as the President of the Lerner Governing Board and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Lerner, Inc.
Honors
Boyn is the recipient of numerous public service awards including Citizen of the Year presented by the Lion’s Club, Couer de Cerf Award (Heart of the Elk) from the City of Elkhart, and Lewis S. Armstrong Award presented by the Indiana University South Bend School of business. He is a Melvin Jones Fellow.
